Soothe + Relax Bath Soak

Soothe + relaxbath soakAt the end of a long day, I love soaking in a warm bath with one of my many homemade bath soaks! This is one that’s in especially frequent rotation.

Why homemade? I get to avoid synthetic fragrances, chemicals, and preservatives when I make it myself. Plus I get to experiment to my essential oil-obsessed heart’s content with new scent blends!

Check out my easy-peasy recipe for a soothing and relaxing bath soak with lavender, white fir, and Frankincense essential oils. Enjoy!

benefits:

lavender essential oil – widely used for its calming and relaxing qualities; eases muscle tension

white fir essential oil – helps the body relax, supports clear breathing & respiratory function

frankincense essential oil – promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, and overall wellness

Ingredients:

1 cup epsom salts

1/2 cup dendritic salt*

1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil, or olive oil

6 drops lavender essential oil

3 drops white fir essential oil

2 drop frankincense essential oil

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl. Stir together completely. Mixture should be mostly dry. The coconut or olive oil is added mainly to help evenly disperse the essential oils. Alternately, you could add 1 teaspoon of liquid castile soap.

Once blended completely, put the bath salts into a glass jar. Use ~1/2 – 1 cup per bath.

*Dendritic salts are fine grain salts, they have a larger surface area than epsom or other salts, allowing them to absorb and hold the essential oil fragrance longer.
